Coulsdon Dental Practice

Fantastic service yesterday! I’m usually terrified of the dentist, but she was so patient and understanding that I felt completely at ease. The whole team – from the receptionist to the dentist and assistant – were friendly and welcoming. I’ve now switched to this practice and would definitely recommend, especially if you’re a nervous patient.

I took my children for a check up and found the dentist incredibly rude and abrupt. My youngest had previously been recommended braces but as a family we decided against it. The dentist made a point about him being interested in his hair looking good but not his teeth. As part of the discussion we had, had with him was that if he changed his mind as an adult he would need to pay for it and it wouldn't be available on the NHS. He then started telling me off for not making my eldest son wear his retainer. My eldest son is almost 17. I told him that if he doesn't want to use it or forgets then there is very little I can do as he is 16 years old. The dental nurse agreed.The dentist is there to give us his professional opinion but but not make cheap shot comparisons about my son's hair or how he looks. The dentist also was more interested in talking about Margot Robbie and the music on the radio than looking at my son's teeth. Afterwards we also went to make the next check up appointment, however when we got home we realised that the receptionist had booked it for August bank holiday. When we pointed it out they then send us an email to say they are cancelling the appointment due to unforeseen circumstances! It's been August bank holiday on the last Monday of August for years! Not much 'unforeseen'. At least we realised that now and not later down the line when less appointments would be available.

Had an emergency appointment with the lovely Irish Dr and his beautiful assistant.(IAM so sorry I can't remember the names). They were both amazing funny and comforting. The only thing that hurt about this appointment was that I had to get out of bed early.
