Graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1982. Completed specialization in General Surgery at Karadeniz Technical University between 1984-1990. Became associate professor in 1992 and professor in 1998. Retired in May 2025. Specialized in endocrine, hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal and breast surgery with advanced laparoscopic interventions. Founded the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit at KTU in 1990.
